VIDEO: John Key - Tour of Parliament

John takes us for a 12 minute mini-tour of some of the most important parts of the Parliament complex, including visits to the Debating Chamber and the Press Gallery (where Barry Soper makes a guest appearance).

hi, I am a university student at auckland uni currently studying politics and management. I found it interesting to look at how parliament works, i lokk forward to other broadcasts that you do !!

Thanks for the tour John. I suspect the Prime Minister wouldn't be quite so generous with allowing people sit in her chair :).

The Legislative Council was the upper house of Parliament (like the House of Lords in Britain) which was abolished in the 1950s by Sid Holland. The Chamber which housed it was never used during the refurbishment of Parliament. There was a temporary chamber built under Bowen House which is now Select Committee Rooms. A nice look around all the same!
