AUDIO: Radio Dunedin (post Budget)
18 May, Radio Dunedin. On the day after Budget 2007 was released, host Neil Collins asks John about rumours being cirulated by Labour politicians that Finance Spokeman Bill English had been banned from talking about the Budget - and John rubbishes the claim. The discussion then moves to the Budget itself and John explains National's objections to the path Labour continues to take. Neil asks whether National would toss out KiwiSaver once in power and John explains that National is committed to "KiwiSaver 1" - the original architecture - but will be looking closely at the new gold-plated version in the run up to the election. Neil and John go on to discuss the groups for which the new KiwiSaver scheme will do nothing (including older workers and the retired), some specifics of National's historic tax cut plans and National's emphasis on lifting wages by improving productivity. www.radiodunedin.co.nz [12:15] |
