AUDIO: KiwiFM interview from Field Days event
13 June. John's weekly interview with KiwiFM's Wallace Chapman Breakfast programme. John calls in from the Hamilton-based Field Day gathering, which organisers say will draw well over 100,000 visitors from 38 countries. The conversation starts with John's reaction to the Government's new tuck shop rules and the futility of trying to address the very serious problems of obesity by regulating the availability of pies in schools. Wallace then asks John about the Government's on-off indications that it might impose new regulations on the electricity industry to make it more socially responsible. John says new regulations aren't called for when the real issue is failing to enforce existing regulations - and to make certain that vulnerable families fully understand their options in the social services network. |
