Mr Key you and your Party are the light at the end of the oppressive tunnel that is the Labour Government, and my mind has been made up about who I am going to vote for for several years now, go the Nats.

My father, like millions of others, was in a nazi concentration camp. He did not go to it as an alternative to Jenny Craig's, or Weightwatcher's programmes. He was not Jewish, but fought for democracy. Mr. Williamson's comments made me sick to my stomach; but worse was the weak reaction of Mr. Key who is "unhappy" with the comments. take it from me; my family are more than unhappy. There will be no votes for national EVER AGAIN from me, my brothers, my three daughters, my six grand daughters, my mother, the husbands of my daughters and anyone else I can speak to and convince between now and the election. Helen Clark, for all her faults, would have fired Williamson. And he advises you on election campaigning? None of you can now be trusted ever again. [Gratuitous invective removed. - admin]

Ideas to base your next term in goverment a) Outsourcing our hardened criminals, (say 2,000) to the lowest tender e.g. China, Thailand, India. Reason i) To make way for lesser crimes e.g. boy racers, graffiti offenders, burglars etc ii) To cut prison costs to tax payers iii) To give Judges more flexibility in determining jail sentences b) Second offence crime to be given military training for 6 months and then 3 year service overseas in peacekeeping foreign aid roles Reason. To make such offenders get some self worth and if appropriate give an interest free loan for a house on their return. c) That the male parent of young offenders do half the jail sentence of the offender Reason. To encourage parents to take better care of their children d) That couples with children whether in marriage or living together have only one start for tax, not two, and that one partner receives $10,000.00 annually paid weekly to stay at home Explanation Couples with children are encouraged to work generally away from home because the top tax rate is not achieved until $120,000 instead of $60,000. e) Gang members or any group that act in a military fashion (war like) should be put into military training for 6 months and then put into front line war duties where needed overseas. Comment Use their energies to protect western society and not intimidate and bully in a civilized society. f) Any recent immigrant who offends or has trouble in adjusting to New Zealand society be deported to their country of origin g) That at least one adult member of a family should go to work whether in normal employment or work for the dole. Reason For the health an well being of the family.

I endorse your comments and as a Maori person, fully support your ideas re gang members. For a long time I have felt they should be sent to the front line but never really felt there was a politician or political party interested enough to listen including the Maori Party the majority of whom seem hell-bent on blaming everyone else excepting the perpetrators. I have also been a long-time Labour supporter but no more. Maori Party? Not until they can show some substance. It only leaves one worthy of voting for. National. Some say I may rue the day, but I doubt it. Todays National Party is not that of yesteryear when only the wealthy benefited. Judges need to be made more accountable for their decisions. Child molesters irrespective of their ages, should be imprisoned for life or better still, bring back capital punishment. I will gladly trip the lever. You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into your comments and are to be congratulated.

I am surprised Mr Benson-Pope hasn't resigned from parliament altogether. Who after all would want a self-confessed lyer as their MP?

I remember that I spent a very entertaining and relaxing afternoon at the Wellington planetarium. Since then I kept asking myself when New Zealand would seriously consider changing its national day from Waitangi Day in February to Matariki. Both have deep Maori significance and also as a personal note from someone born in the northern hemisphere I believe that everyone would benefit from a holiday half way through the year in the southern winter, one that they never had before. Kind regards, Julia

I think that John Key did the right thing in not replying to the gutter talk from labour in the house today. They are not worth the energy. It astounds me that people who are supposed to be leaders in our society stoop to such antics and with such pleasure. Their taunts were not worthy of reply. Hold fast

So Labour have an issue that John lives in a nice house. While Labour are content to teach more and more New Zealanders how to apply for a benefit of one klind or another, John is hell bent on showing Kiwis how he's achieved that house and how they can do it too. Stay the course John.
