VIDEO: John grills the Prime Minister on the performance of the Minister of Health

04 March. In a heated exchange during Question Time, John asks the Prime Minister if she has confidence in the Minister of Health and, given the number of problems evident in the system, why she would.  In a remarkable display, both the Greens and ACT join the attack.

I have copied a letter from a Mammographer that was offered a posiiton in NZ, is registered, but has turned us down due to the cost of living. Something to look at. I know she is presently paying no tax but this is what we are competing with. I’m sorry for a little delayed response. Firstly I’d like to thank you for your patience and understanding regarding my situation on seeking employment in New Zealand. I do seek to find the best opportunity that can be arrived at to further my career as well as improve the standard of living for my family. However, after due consideration of many parameters including that of my children’s and my husband’s input, I have come to the realization that employment there in NZ at this time may not be as beneficial as I had thought. Though the offer in NZ is enticing, the tax implications I have come to learn about are quite burdensome as I would not be able to support my family on the projected net income (there are no taxes levied on salaried workers in Kuwait). In our family caucus, my husband would like to get the benefit of completing his tenure in his current job in order to maximize our finances prior to my embarking employment in another country as he would be jobless in the transfer. I hope that I have not inconvenienced you but after getting information on living standards in NZ, I would not be in a positive position if I get employment in NZ now. Thank you for your understanding and all the effort that you have given in my behalf. Kind regards

I have found it difficult to find a place to send a message to John Key. Could I urge him in the strongest possible terms to continue with the policy to abolish the Maori seats. There are countless thousands of people (hundreds of thousands I would suggest) out here who consider it a primary policy to end this rort. For years we have lived with this gerrymander that is incredibly undemocratic and a continuing blot on our country. Please continue to have the obilution of these seats as a priority. sincerely, Roger Strong

I do find it rather bizarre that it seems likely that your party is likely to be elected at the next election. It is very strange that NZ under recent labour coalitions has managed better than average growth, lowest unemployment on record, and has managed to close the gap opened up between kiwis by the heartless policies of the ruth richardson era. Lucky for National, the NZ electorate is unbelievably stupid in terms of remembering anything from more than a year ago, and has also had the fortune of the only 'national' style paper lobbying for it for the last couple of years. It's become clear in recent weeks that you as the leader have little experience or even knowledge of your own party's policies!, let alone how to run a country, and you have shown your true one dimensional colours on matters such as wage levels. Im now seriously considering delaying my return to NZ until 2011, when hopefully the half witted middle NZ electorate realises that the policies implemented under a labour coalition were actually good for them, and that silly 'scandals' over stupid behaviour by the odd Labour MP wasn't actually a proper reason for voting them out. PS the treaty of waitangi is a legal document between the crown and the govt. to suggest the abolition of maori seats is morally corrupt and racist- your attitude (sorry, but the treaty is clear- no amt of pandering to right wing red necks to say we're 'one country' will change the fact that NZ is a bicultural entity- a partnership between maori and the crown- the arrogance and naivity of national on these matters is staggering.

I have no idea if this will reach John Key but i work for the customs Service in auckland and am amazed that as Auckland is the main port Wellington is the one increasing in staff. Auckland Airport alone has 60 jobs as people leave as they underpaid and the cost of living is not taken into any factors. Most of us beleive in the job we are doing but the present govt do not seem to understand this. [Admin: I've passed this along to Shane Ardern, our Customs spokesman.]
