Winston's Innocence !?! In the 6 pm news on TV One, Saturday night, Peter Williams QC, Winston's lawyer, was quoted as saying the material given to the SFO "clears Mr Peters on this matter". [The "matter" was not defined.] He, Williams, went on to say that "the papers prove the donation monies were not mishandled ... the monies were then paid to NZ First". While this may "clear" Winston Peters' name in respect of any allegation that donation monies were fraudulently handled, it also confirms that he (and NZ First) *DID* receive the donations. Therefore, the Privileges Committee's concerns that NZ First failed to disclose the donations is also now proven, and NZ first and Winston Peters are definitely at fault in this respect, and in misleading the House.
