02 October: Hospice policy launch, Timaru & Ashburton visits
From the Christchurch Koru Lounge, John talks about his day on the campaign trail day, a day that saw him launch National's policy on support for hospices. John launched the policy at a hospice in Timaru, home to MP/candidate Jo Goodhew, and he talks about meeting three-year-old Michelle Williams at that hospice. He also did a tour of businesses and shops in the town and in Ashburton - chatting with residents along the way (playing at one point with the infamous rubber Leader Dogs) and visited the Trevellyn Home and Hospital, where he speaks in this video with the oldest resident, 105-year-old Myra Fairmaid, who has been a National supporter since the Party was formed.
