VIDEO: John Key on the '20 hours free' ECE promise
| On Monday, 26 March, National Education Spokeswoman, Katherine Rich, and I visited a pre-school in my electorate, the Royal Road PreSchool. In this broadcast I talk about the Government's failed promise to deliver 20 free hours of pre-school for all New Zealand children aged three and four. Made in the heat of the election campaign, the promise has turned out to be a fraud perpetrated on New Zealand parents. For more on this issue, see the education policy pages on the main National Party website - and in particular, this press release by Katherine Rich. National MP Paula Bennett is the Associate Spokeswoman for Early Childhood Education and has a useful collection of statements on this issue, as well. Click here for those and click here to watch Paula discuss this on our YouTube channel. Looking forward to your comments! . |
