I ask our government to honour the agreement it made and signed at the 2002 Monterrey Conference and again at the 2002 Johannesburg Summit to make concrete efforts towards giving 0.7% of our national income in aid to poor countries. I understand that during this recession it is a tough ask, but if we think we have it bad, how must the economically less developed countries be coping???
