Good work on Christine Rankin's appointment. The Families Commission needs her views. I have emailed Peter Dunne objecting to his comments on TV today.

I have just watched John Key on Breakfast discussing Christine Rankin. He was harangued by Paul Henry and should have protected himself and Christine Rankin with a comment such as: We do not make appointments toThe Families Commission to set those people up as role models for families but to protect the legislative rights of families. Her personal circumstances are irrelevant: as long as she has not breached the law protecting the rights of families. Christine Rankin is a strong advocate for the rights of children: New Zealanders should be focussing on our poor track record for protecting children rather than the personal life of the new commissioner. Peter Dwan
