Good on you John we've had enough of poor teaching practices in NZ. My wife and I have 3 boys and have been stonewalled by the teaching staff at a decile 8 school to the point that, we have removed our children from that school. The fact for the last 3yrs one of sons was well behind at school in English, the comment was "he was boy he does not really like learning". We paid for after school tuition to help and this has made huge difference in his learning also they found he probably has a learning disability this was not found until he was 8 1/2 while attending after school tuition we are now awaiting for final diagnosis of which learning disability he has. The after school tuition did highlight where he was weak and we fed this information to the school on areas they could assist him with, the school took no action. Thanks John we are parents that need a strong voice for our kids so they all have an opportunity to work to the best of their ability. It is great we finally have PM that does not to back down to Unions demands. My wife & I will support you 150% with the national standards be implemented.
